The Belmont Hotel

Contact Venue

The Belmont Hotel is much loved by the many guests who return year after year to this pretty traditional, Adults only, seaside hotel. With luxury accommodation, outstanding service, spectacular sea views and delicious cuisine, The Belmont combines all the ingredients for a magical short break.

Originally the summer residence of a grand Victorian family, the Belmont retains the very special cosy atmosphere associated with a family home. The chandeliers in the Restaurant are believed to be,the original 19th-century chandeliers chandeliers, and throughout the hotel, you will sense the charm of a bygone age.

With two spectacular restaurants and a beautiful suite overlooking the manicured lawns sweeping down to the Esplanade, The Belmont Hotel gives diners plenty of choice for every occasion.

The 19th-century white painted building with its wooden balconies is particularly attractive and makes a lovely backdrop as you enjoy a Devon Cream Tea or a sundowner on the Terrace.

As a hotel, we pride ourselves on creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere for our adult guests. To maintain this environment, children under the age of 18 are not permitted to stay overnight. However, we recognise that special occasions such as golden weddings, anniversaries, and important family celebrations are moments worth sharing. On these occasions, children will be allowed to attend lunches and teas, between 11:30am – 6pm.Our sister hotel, The Victoria which is directly adjacent to us, warmly welcomes children of all ages and has extensive family facilities to enjoy.

With its relaxed ambience and friendly staff, the Belmont Hotel makes the perfect setting to celebrate that special Wedding Anniversary or birthday.

“I have never before, in my long eclectic career, been gifted with such an abundance of natural beauty as I experienced filming War Horse. With two and a half weeks of extensive coverage of landscapes and skies, I hardly scratched the surface of the visual opportunities that were gifted to me.”
